The multinational jury will decide on an award for best debut and second film within one of the festival’s competitive sections (competition, CinemaXXI, Italian perspectives and autonomous section Alice in the City).

“Reaching out to new directors means on the one hand, taking a note of promising debuts, and on the other putting value on the reinforcement in style that only second films can reveal,” explained the festival’s artistic director, Marco Müller. “This is why it seemed important for us to make space for an award for best debut and second film.”
