CinEast 2012 closes curtains
- Radu Jude's Everybody In Our Family gets the Grand Prix
The 5th edition of the Luxembourg CinEast has just closed its curtains with flying colours.
On Friday October 26, the Awards Ceremony took place at Luxembourg City's Cinémathèque, which was so crowded that some additional chairs were brought in. Beryl Koltz, Luxembourgish director and president of the Jury spoke first, expressing her satisfaction with the 2012 edition and awarding the Grand Prix to Everybody in our Family [+see also:

"It was very well directed, with good tension, good actors, great psychology and the tone was between tragic and comic: definitely enjoyable," said Koltz. Then the Special Prize from the Jury was announced - Tilva Rosh by Nikola Lezaic. Gyorgy Palfi, director and Jury member said: "It was our second favourite, very fresh and modern as it focuses on youth and its problems. We thought it deserved a little help for its future career."
Finally, CinEast festival-goers selected Mushrooming by Estonian director Toomas Hussar as their favourite feature, honouring it with the Audience Award, while the first Audience Award for the Best Short Film in CinEast's history went to Frozen Stories by Grzegorz Jaroszuk. The best grand finale possible was guaranteed by a screening of Gyorgy Palfi's latest feature, Final Cut - Ladies & Gentlemen [+see also:
