Metrodome Group expands production output
- Company to co-produce 4-5 films a year from 2013
The Metrodome Group is expanding its production output with a slate of films through its production arm Cinedome. Five projects are currently at different stages of development and production. Metrodome Distribution will executive produce the slate and handle theatrical and home entertainment rights in the UK. The Salt Company who will be involved from the early stages of each production will handle international sales. Metrodome will be co-producing between 4-5 features a year from 2013 onwards.
Elliot Goldner’s The Borderlands, the first feature from the slate, tells the story of a team of Vatican investigators sent to the British West Country to investigate reports of sinister events at a remote church. It is in post-production and will be theatrically released in the UK in mid 2013.
Projects scheduled for production in 2013 include: Slayer - a supernatural action thriller based in Roman Britain, directed by Sam Walker; Whitaker - a contemporary take on Frankenstein, directed by Jim Hosking; The Monsters - a thriller set against the back drop of football hooliganism (director not attached yet); and Fallen Eagle – a siege drama, directed by Adam Randall.
The slate will focus on theatrically released genre titles with British emerging talents working alongside established producers. Full or part funding for projects will be provided through a relationship with an Enterprise Investment Scheme fund.
