The festival will screen a mix of independent films from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The festival director is Sonali Joshi, an old hand on the London festival scene, having been associated with the Tibet Film Festival, the Pan-Asia Film Festival and the Northern Lights Film Festival.

Joshi says, “Nordic cinema is thriving, with its vibrant independent filmmaking scene and long-standing traditions of internationally recognised talent. Nordic Film Festival will be the only festival of its kind in the UK, offering a dedicated context through which to celebrate Nordic cinema with the aim of producing a truly creative, exciting and enjoyable festival. We encourage cinema lovers across the capital to participate in our first Nordic Film Festival.”
