Yesterday, the 11 weeks of shooting for Three Days to Kill, a new thriller in English being produced by EuropaCorp, kicked off in Paris. Directed by McG, the film is to star Kevin Costner (photo) and Hailee Steinfeld (who was nominated for the 2011 Oscar for best supporting actress for her role in True Grit). It’s the second feature to be financed by Luc Besson’s production company and the Americans from Relativity Media, after Malavita (in post-production – with Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones, Dianna Agron, and John D’Leo – due out in France on October 23, 2013).

Written by Luc Besson and Adi Hasak, Three Days to Kill’s screenplay centres on Ethan, a secret agent who discovers that he is terminally ill. He decides to retire to be closer to his family. But, in exchange for one last mission, the secret services offer him the possibility to have access to an experimental drug that could save his life. Ethan soon finds himself juggling his family, his mission, and hallucinations as one of the drug’s side effects.
