Secret agent and Swedes in Greece and Thailand compete for audiences

film profile] leads by 11 - the Swedish Film Institute has announced the three candidates for the Audience Guldbagge, ie the top local films on the Swedish 2012 charts.

Starring William Ringström, Morgan Alling and Anja Lundquist, Tosh in Greece is the story of a family on a holiday trip to Greece, which starts in disasters - but it's all inclusive. Patrick Ryborn produced for Eyeworks Sweden, and the film took 330,000 domestic admissions.

Starring Swedish actor Mikael Persbrandt as Sweden's most famous secret agent Carl Hamilton, the Windfeld instalment in Pampas Produktion's three-film series uncovers an illegal arms deal, which reaches European government level. The Jan Marnell production sold app 500,000 tickets in Swedish cinemas.

Once Upon a Time in Phuket joins a life coach (Peter Magnusson), who goes to Thailand to fulfil his dreams of becoming a writer, and begins to wonder what he really wants to do with his life. Produced by Lena Rehnberg for StellaNova Film, it registered a 398,000 attendance.

The winner is voted by phone calls from the audience during the SVT televised gala on January 21 at Stockholm's Cirkus, Swedish Film Institute will present the Guldbagge awards.
