For the first time in its history, Unifrance, the agency for the promotion of French cinema abroad, will be presided by an artist: director Jean-Paul Salomé was elected today with an absolute majority by the members of the management committee, in preference to producer Raphaël Berdugo. Salomé picks up the torch from Antoine de Clermont-Tonnerre, who completed two consecutive 2-year mandates, Margaret Ménégoz (2003-2009) and Daniel Toscan du Plantier (1988 to 2003). Régine Hatchondo remains as general delegate.
