The young Valencia-based director Beatriz Sanchís started filming last February 11 for her feature film debut called Todos están muertos. This romantic comedy, coproduced by Spanish Avalon P. C., German Integral Film and Mexican Animal de Luz, will be shot up until March 16.

The story, set in 1996 and written by Sanchís herself, stars Lupe, 35 (played by Elena Anaya - photo – a muse for international Spanish filmmakers Pedro Almodóvar and Julio Medem), who lives closed up in a house in her nightgown and slippers. Her life exclusively revolves around tart baking. She is completely dependent on her mother and has a rocky relationship with her teenage son Pancho. No one would guess that, back in the 1980s, she was a rock star. Paquita, her mother, supports her in everything she does and when she is told that she will die, the old lady decides to set her family up for when she will no longer be around.

Beyond Anaya, the cast is made up of Mexican Angélica Aragón, Argentine Nahuel Pérez Biscayart and Spanish Macarena García, who won the Silver Concha in Sebastian and was nominated for a Goya for her work in Blancanieves

Todos están muertos was a beneficiary in 2011 of funds from the Ibermedia Programme for its coproduction with Mexico in 2012, and from Eurimages for its collaboration with Germany.
