Despite the luke-warm reception (very negative in some cases) reserved by critics for this uninhibited film, it chalked up receipts of almost 2 million euros in its first three days of screening.
According to the provisional figures published by Rentrak Spain, receipts from the comedy amounted to at least 1.86 million euros, though the final amount for this first week-end should attain 1.9 million once all the figures come in. As Warner Bros Pictures launched the film in the very average number of 295 copies, its average per theatre achieved the outstanding level of 6,320 euros.
The initial results of I'm so Excited thus exceed the 1.75 million euros chalked up in 2006 by Volver [+see also:

Even so, this movie produced by Agustin Almodovar for El Deseo and interpreted, among many others, by Javier Cámara, Carlos Areces, Raúl Arévalo, Guillermo Toledo, Cecilia Roth and Lola Dueñas, is henceforth this year's second best launch in Spain (after Mama) and fourth in the general rankings.
