becomes the most successful domestic release in the last two decades, says production company and distributor Parada Film. The film earned approximately €60,000 for its first three days of screenings. With these numbers, Child's Pose breaks the record set last year by Iura Luncasu's Sweet Little Lies, produced by MediaPro Pictures and seen by 14,000 Romanians during its first weekend.

Parada Film organized an extensive promotional campaign before the Berlinale and it all paid off after the film's success at the festival. The first Golden Bear ever won by a Romanian film was met with huge enthusiasm and curiosity by Romanians, the trophy being presented on practically every TV channel in the country. Parada Film released the film on 35 screens in 20 cities all over Romania. Director Calin Peter Netzer, actors Luminita Gheorghiu and Bogdan Dumitrache, and producer Ada Solomon will present the film in smaller towns over the next few weeks.

Child's Pose will be without doubt March's most successful domestic release, which brings a record number of releases to the country's screens: as many as six new Romanian productions and co-productions will be released over a period of a few weeks. The most interesting competitors for Netzer's film are Bogdan Dreyer's A Farewell to Fools (March 15), one of the most expensive films ever produced in Romania, which stars Gerard Depardieu and Harvey Keitel, and Adrian Sitaru's Domestic (March 22), a 4 Proof Film production about a group of people who live in the same apartment building and whose lives are affected by their pets.
