CinÉast Festival opens submissions for 2013 edition
- Submissions for the 6th edition of CinÉast are now opened and will end June, 30th
Between the 9th and 27th October 2013, the CinÉast Festival, the Central and Eastern European Film Festival, will be held in Luxembourg City and other towns and will offer a wide selection of features, documentaries and short films (fiction, animated and documentary) as well as a rich programme of accompanying events, concerts, exhibitions, debates, culinary evenings and more.
The festival aims to promote the cinema of Central and Eastern European countries of the former communist bloc in and around Luxembourg. It has existed since 2008 and the upcoming 6th has selected feature films to compete for the Grand Prix and the Special Prize of the Jury awarded by an international jury.
In 2012, the CinÉast festival presented over 90 films in nine cinemas around Luxembourg, welcoming 20 special guests and attracting over 6,200 spectators.
Features as well as short films (fiction, documentary and animated) are welcomed at the CinÉast Festival. Are accepted filmmakers only from Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Serbia (projects by directors from Bosnia &Herzegovina, FYROM, Montenegro and Kosovo will also be accepted), and other films having a strong connection to the mentioned countries can also be considered as an exception.
The submission deadline is 30 June 2013.
