Noi the Albino (Noi Albinoi) by Iceland’s Dagur Kari has won yet another important international award: the jury Grand Prix at the 16th Nordic Film Festival of Rouen in France.
The best actress nod went to Oksana Akinshina, the star of Swedish director Lukas Moodysson’s Lilja 4-Ever [+see also:

film profile], which also won the European Jury award. The film premiered in “Against the Mainstream” at the last Venice Film Festival.
Susanne Bier’s Dogme feature, Open Hearts [+see also:

film profile] won the Press Award and Mads Mikkelsen won best actor.
Rouen reflects the growing popularity of Nordic and Scandinavian films in France with local company Haut et Court Distribution scheduled to release Open Hearts on 6 April, followed on 16 April by Lilja 4-Ever.
