Puglia Experience 2013 - a travelling audiovisual workshop

The American screenwriter, director and cinema producer James V. Hart, will be in Apulia, from 17th June to 6th July, to lead the 4th edition of “Puglia Experience 2013”, the travelling audiovisual workshop organized by Apulia Film Commission, promoted by Apulia Region and financed by European Regional Development Fund. Author of many films such as Hook, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Tomb Raider, August Rush and Sahara, James V. Hart is one of the most qualified American Professors for audiovisual storytelling techniques.

He will be assisted by Chris Vogler, author of the one of the most influential screenwriting textbook: “The Writer’s Journey – Mythic Structure for Writers”, translated all over the world and known in Italy as “Il viaggio dell’eroe”. The book has become a bedrock for generations of screenwriters, novelists and writers.

Vogler worked with Disney, Warner Bros and Fox. Actually, he is consultant for Paramount Pictures and has been teaching at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles). He made significant contributions to the movies The Wrestler, Black Swan, Fight Club and The Thin Red Line.

Part of the tutor’s team will also be the international script editor Claire Dobbin, Vice-President of EQuinoxe and chairperson of the Melbourne International Film Festival.

The fourth edition of “AAW Puglia Experience” is dedicated to international professional scriptwriters from all over the world and aims to attract the best professionals of the audio-visual storytelling on the Apulia area, as a source of inspiration in creating film and television stories, through the discovery of places, landscapes and people of the region that will stimulate the creativity during 3 weeks of work throughout the provinces of the Apulia region.

The workshop is free and all the expenses related to travel, accommodation and food in Apulia are covered in their entirety by the Apulia Film Commission Foundation.
