CANNES 2013 Directors' Fortnight

13 Europeans on the bill

by

- A wave of French films, two British productions and two from Sitzerland in the showcase of a Directors' Fortnight dominated by genre films

Crime stories, comedies, horror and suspense movies, documentaries… "There are quite a few bombshells" enthused General Delegate Edouard Waintrop when revealing at noon today in Paris the selection for the 45th Directors' Fortnight to take place from May 16th to 26th as part of the 66th Cannes Film Festival. A daring selection which has chosen to highlight new generations, with seven first feature films and three second features out of the 21 titles on the list. Among them, Europe wil be very widely represented with 13 films (signed by French, English, Irish and Swiss directors) and two minority coproductions. The United States will embark with four films, Asia with three (one Indian, one from Singapore and one from the Philippines), and South America with a Chilean movie.
