TIFF announces titles in competition
- Ten out of the 12 titles vying for the Transylvania trophy are first features
The 12th edition of the Transylvania International Film Festival will be held from May 31-June 9. The biggest film event in Romania, TIFF has a competition reserved for first and second features, and 2013 is definitely the year of the former: 10 out of the 12 titles are invited directors' first features.
It's also the most international competition in recent years of TIFF: films from four continents vie for the Transylvania Trophy. Denmark is the only country with two chances, Michael Noer's Northwest [+see also:

The festival will open on May 31 with Pedro Almodovar's I'm So Excited [+see also:

The 12th edition will showcase regular siderbars, such as Supernova, which screens winners at important film festivals, Shadows, the horror and fantasy film section, No Limit, and the documentary sidebar, What's Up Doc?. Greece, the Slovak Republic and Russia are the three countries invited to show their newest films productions in the three Focus sidebars.
The winners will be announced on June 8.
