Pixel Market open for submissions
- Cross-Media Forum dates announced
Power to the Pixel has announced that the industry finance and co-production event for producers, storytellers, financiers and distributors of cross-media content, The Pixel Market, is open for submissions with a deadline for entries of July 26. The Market will be part of the Cross-Media Forum (October 15-18) that also incorporates a conference and a VIP think tank.
This year, up to 30 international production teams will be selected to participate in The Pixel Market and to compete for prizes including this year’s ARTE International Prize for The Pixel Pitch, an award of €6,000. Other prizes on offer are the beActive Pixel Market Prize for Scripted Content (Fiction) and the Cinekid Pixel Market Prize for Children’s Content.
Liz Rosenthal, CEO of Power to the Pixel, said, “The Pixel Market is our centrepiece event at The Cross-Media Forum and has produced some fantastic content including last year’s ARTE Pixel Pitch Prize winner, Everyday Rebellion. The event also helps find financing, creative partnerships and international collaborations and is an unmissable opportunity for anyone working in the cross-media and transmedia space. I can’t wait to receive this year’s entries and see what future productions we can look forward to.”
Power to the Pixel will be at the Cannes Film Festival moderating sessions at the Marché du Film’s Cross-Media Corner, The Producer’s Network Breakfasts and the UK Film Pavilion.
The MEDIA Programme of the European Union, Canada Media Fund, ARTE, beActive and Cinekid support the Pixel Market. The Cross-Media Forum is run in association with The BFI London Film Festival.
