London renews partnerships with Paris, Rio
- Film London re-ups with Ile de France, Filme Rio
The Ile de France Film Commission and Film London have renewed their partnership agreement. As part of the partnership up to four French producers will attend the Film London Production Finance Market (PFM, October 16-17) to pitch their projects to international film financiers. Reciprocally, up to four British post production and SFX professionals from London will attend ParisFX 2013 (Enghien-les-Bains, December 4-5).
Film London and Filme Rio - Rio Film Commission have reconfirmed their partnership. The partnership will provide the PFM with a potential avenue for Rio based producers to attend the market via a filter selection process administered by Rio Filme - Rio Film Commission, which will recommend up to five projects to be reviewed by the PFM Selection Committee. Successful applicants will attend the market in October. On the back of the new UK creative sector tax reliefs for high-end television and animation, in place as of April 1, both agencies will be exploring how best to capitalise on these new opportunities.
Film London also has existing partnerships with the Toronto International Film Festival’s International Financing Forum, Melbourne International Film Festival’s 37ºSouth Market, Rome International Film Festival’s New Cinema Network, and the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund.
PFM 2013 enjoys the support of the Mayor of London, MEDIA, UK Trade & Investment and creative industry financing consultancy peacefulfish.
