Blyton's Famous Five to perform in a Danish feature again - now for Bullitt
- Danish director Mariella Harpelunde Jensen will direct the new adaptation of the children's books for Bullitt Film in collaboration with Mis.Label distribution

The children's books including The Famous Five series by UK author Enid Blyton (1897-1968) have sold an estimated 600 million copies worldwide and been adapted for numerous films and television series - now they are ready for a comeback on Nordic screens.
Copenhagen's Bullitt Film has secured the rights for The Famous Five: An Adventure, based on the novels Blyton wrote between 1942-1963 about the adventures of a group of young children - Julian, Dick, Anne, Georgina and their dog Timmy.
"Our dream is to create an ambitious, funny, action-packed and engaging family film with a really strong Scandinavian feel to it," said Danish producer Elise Lund Larsen, who founded Bullitt Film with Vibeke Vogel in 2006. The company has so far focused on documentaries and television films, but Lund Larsen sees the €2.5 million project - which will be made in collaboration with Danish distributor Mis.Label - as an important step in its commitment to feature film production.
Currently in development for a 1024 shoot, The Famous Five: An Adventure will be directed by Danish director Mariella Harpelunde Jensen (photo), who has mainly worked on such television series as Isa's Stepz (2008) and Barda (2006-2013).
In the updated version the four children and the dog get to spend the summer together by chance - their friendship is tested through their involvement in mysterious events that take place on the little island right next to where they stay.
Danish producer Just Betzer (who staged Denmark's first Oscar-winning feature, Gabriel Axel's Babette's Feast) introduced The Famous Five to Danish cinema in 1969-1970 by Five Go Adventuring Again and Five Get Into Trouble, both directed by Trine Hedman.
