If the Crystal for the Best Feature Film in the 37th International Animated Film Festival of Annecy went to the Brazilian film Rio 2096: A story of Love and Fury by Luiz Bolognesi, Europe features prominently in the winners’ list with a Special Mention for the Franco-Luxembourg coproduction Ma maman est en Amérique, elle a rencontré Buffalo Bill [+see also:

 by duo Marc Boréal - Thibaut Chatel. Produced by Label Anim, in coproduction with Mélusine Productions and StudioCanal (which is handling its international sales), the film, which focuses on a 6 year-old boy in the ‘70s, will be distributed in France on October 23rd by Gebeka.

Produced by Artefacto Producciones and making use of the puppet technique, this feature film recounts the mishaps of a prisoner who has just escaped from prison and attempts to retrieve the booty he hid a few years earlier in a small, remote and isolated village.
