Mika Kaurismäki presents Nordic cinema

- A retrospective of Nordic and Scandinavian cinema in Rome from 28 March to 17 April featuring the work of Mika & Aki Kaurismaki, Dogma'95 and Liv Ullman

Today, 28 March, Finnish director, Mika Kaurismäki will open a review of Nordic cinema entitled Images from the North, with two of his films: Tigrero: A Film Never Made, starring Samuel Fueller and Jim Jarmusch, and Condition Red - hälytystila. The event will be held in Rome’s FilmStudio until 17 April.
Other Nordic featured authors are Lars von Trier, Aki Kaurismäki, Erig Guastavson and Liv Ullman.
A sidebar conference about contemporary Danish cinema, with special emphasis on the Dogma’95 Manifesto, has also been organised with keynote speeches by Professor Schepelem of Copenhagen University on 7 April, followed on 9 April by Niels Christian Hvidt of Rome’s Gregorian University.
