- First clap for the film recounting the extraordinary destiny of a rescue dog. Zsolt Trill is in the cast of this production signed László Kántor
Appreciated at the Panorama of the 2005 Berlinale with Dallas Among Us and in Karlovy Vary in 2010 with The Camera Murderer, the filmmaker of Romanian origin Robert Adrian Pejo today begins the shooting of his 4th feature film, the Hungarian production Paw. The cast of this film depicting the adventures of a famous rescue dog notably features Zsolt Trill (Johanna [+see also:
film profile], Chameleon [+see also:
film profile]), Orsolya Holecskó, Tamás Keresztes, Oszkár Nyári and László Szacsvay
Written by the director with Norbert Köbli and Katalin Szy, the screenplay’s main protagonist is Mancs, an orphaned puppy who struggles to survive, looking for a new home. After many mishaps, the German Shepherd manages to find a loving and protective family. By training with his owner, Zoli, he will become a very special and world famous animal: the rescue dog Mancs. The screenplay was inspired by real events: specializing in finding victims after earthquakes, Mancs took part in many rescue operations during his career, notably in Salvador, Guatemala, India, Egypt, Italy and even Turkey in 1999 where he saved a 3 year old girl who had been buried for 82 hours.
Produced by László Kántor (who already worked with the director for Dallas Among Us) for Mancsfilm Kft, Paw is coproduced by MTM-SBS Televízió and Új Budapest Filmstúdió. Also funded by the Hungarian National Film Fund, the filming will last until September 5th with outdoor scenes in Budapest and its surroundings and indoor scenes in the Studio Mafilm. The Hungarian distribution should be handled by Intercom, while international sales are still being negotiated.
