Corbeaux & Méliès in Brussels

The 12th International Fantastic Film Festival of Brussels ended on 29 March with the traditional awards ceremony, which was followed by the screening of Alan Parker’s The Life of David Gale [+see also:

The jury of Gérard Lauzier, Norman Spinrad, Olivier Torres, Julien Vrebos and president Jérôme Boivin assigned the Golden Crow award (the festival’s top prize) to Cypher by Canada’s Vincenzo Natali.

Angela Bettis won the best actress Silver Crow for May by Lucky McGee while Ryuhei Kitamura won the best director Silver Crow for Aragami.
Dead End by Jean-Baptists Andréa and Fabrice Canépa won the Audience Award and the Silver Méliès while Andreas Samland’s short film, Tag 26 took home the TV Award. Nosferatu Tango by Zoltan Horvath won the jury’s special prize.
The Golden Méliès went to Fausto 5.0 (presented in Brussels in 2002) as part of the Cinenygman Festival of Luxembourg.
