Producers Lab Toronto: participants for 2013 unveiled
- The trans-Atlantic networking platform will be held during the Toronto International Film Festival
With Australia and New Zealand as guest countries, the fourth edition of the trans-Atlantic networking platform Producers Lab Toronto will be held from September 4 to 7 during the Toronto International Film Festival. The strong line-up of sought-after names includes ten dynamic producers each from across Europe and Canada and another four from Down Under.
Producers Lab Toronto has successfully enabled the development of several European- Canadian co-productions over the past few years: to date within this trans-Atlantic network, the 2011 participants have been discussing 21 projects, while the 2012 participants have been working on 25 film projects, most of them with concrete titles.
This year’s 24 participants will take part in pitching sessions, case studies and roundtables over a four-day period during the hustle and bustle of the Toronto International Film Festival. Various networking events with key people from the film industry and film funds complement the programme.
European participants were selected by the European Film Promotion among the alumni of the Cannes-based networking platform Producers on the Move. Canadian producers are chosen by OMDC and TIFF from an open call across Canada, while Screen Australia and New Zealand Film Commission select the participants from their countries.
