After two US thrillers, Christiansen returns to restless, adrenaline-hungry Danish boys

Danish director Christian E Christiansen, whose first Hollywood movie, The Roommate (2011), opened No 1 on American charts, will shortly launch his next US thriller. Starring Rufus Sewell, Alycia Debnam Carey and Adelaine Kane in the story of a religious cult where young girls start to go missing - older followers fear a long-told prophecy, while the younger members suspect that abusive elders are killing them off - Where the Devil Hides will be released on October 11.
Meanwhile Christiansenhas returned to Denmark, where he has started principal photography for a stand-alone sequel to Life Hits [+see also:

film profile], his 2006 feature debut about four teenage girls and their hard life with alcohol, drugs and boys, which was viewed by 109,000 spectators domestically.
Scripted with his Life Hits partner Rasmus Dragsted, On the Edge is described as “a grim tale of rootless desperadoes, friendship, loyalty, love and guilt” – this time about boys - starring Cyron Melville, Jakob Oftebro and Danica Curcic (photo).
Life Hits producer Louise Vesth has also returned, with Denia Dremstrup and Jakob Balslev for Zentropa Entertainments, in collaboration with Aarhus-based M2 Film (Mads Munk, Kenneth Plummer), for the five-week shoot in locations in Aarhus.
Street racing, alcohol and fast love are the excitements of Nikolaj and his restless and adrenaline-hungry group of friends, but also a dangerous combination: at full throttle, Nikolaj and his friend Martin hit and kill a young woman. Martin, the driver, goes to jail – Nikolaj feels guilty, even more when he falls in love with Martin’s girlfriend, Signe.
