The Board of Italian state broadcaster, RAI voted unanimously in favour of appointing Flavio Catteneo as the new director general (DG). When his candidacy was first examined one week ago, Catteneo, the former president of Fiera Milano, received three votes in favour and two abstentions - by RAI president Lucia Annunziata and board member, Giorgio Rumi.
The new RAI board of administration is scheduled to appear before the state broadcaster's Parliamentary Watchdog Commission on 15 April.
