- Regulars on the Croisette, promising first films and enticing adaptations are all on the programme of the last session of the Film Selection Commission
The Film Selection Commission of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation just announced the results of its last commission, which handed out over 3.5 million euros to 44 audiovisual projects, including 15 feature films.
Two major duos of Belgian cinema received backing for their new projects. Dominique Abel & Fiona Gordon’s new offbeat comedy, Lost In Paris [+see also:

film profile], which will be filmed next spring, was selected. As for the Dardenne brothers, they will be backed for Deux jours, une nuit, their new feature with Marion Cotillard and Fabrizio Rongione, whose filming should end in Seraing, the brothers’ cinema territory.
We also find Fabrizio Rongione starring in Une part d’ombre, Samuel Tilman and Eklektik Productions’ first feature, funded for production. In terms of first films, the CCA will also back the production of Marcheuses by Olivier Meys, a singular project at the heart of a Chinese neighbourhood of Paris, produced by Tarantula. As for production funding, it is worth mentioning the return of Martine Doyen with No Fun!, a comedy about the loss of sense of humour, produced by Hélicotronc, as well as the funding given to Vanja d’Alcantara for Le Cœur Régulier [+see also:
film profile], based on a novel by Olivier Adam. This session will also back the writing of the next project by duo Cattet-Forzani (based on the detective novel by Jean-Pierre Bastid and Jean-Patrick Manchette Laissez bronzer les cadavres!), whose new film, The Strange Colour of Your Body's Tears [+see also:
film profile], unveiled in Locarno and just presented in Toronto, seems to keep its promises.
Finally, it is worth noting that Olivier Masset-Depasse is back to business, as he will be filming Le Sanctuaire next month, a historical television film produced by Canal Plus, Haut et Court and Versus Productions, and dedicated to the struggle between the ETA and the GAL in the 80’s.
