24/09/2013 - Principal photography underway for a violent thriller set amongst the clans and firms of South East London

Writer/director Gabe Turner (In The Hands Of The Gods) has commenced principal photography on Meet The Guvnors, a violent thriller set amongst the clans and firms of South East London that brings two generations together in conflict. The cast features Doug Allen (photo – Closed Circuit), Harley Alexander Sule (television’s The Cut), David Essex (Traveller) and Jay Simpson (The Magnificent Eleven).

Leo Pearlman is producing the film for Fulwell 73 alongside Danny Potts (Piggy) and Cass Pennant, a former football hooligan who was the subject of the film Cass [+see also:

film profile]. Jezz Vernon is executive producing for Metrodome Distribution, who will theatrically release the film in 2014. The Salt Company is handling exclusive worldwide sales.

Pearlman said, “The opportunity to work with such a talented group of iconic British actors and to produce Gabe Turner’s first scripted feature was too good to miss. The script is both shocking and original in equal measure and contains those classic moments that the audience will leave the cinema talking about.”
