Green light from Europe for tax incentives
- A renewal for 6 years of the agreement of the Hungarian funding system for national and international productions filming in the country
The European Commission gave its go ahead for the extension for six years of the Hungarian cinema funding system. The current tax incentives in favour of national and international productions filming in Hungary are thus maintained until December 31, 2019. The possible fiscal deductions remain at 20% of the production cost spent in Hungary.
It is worth noting that the European Commission also confirmed the increase in the annual backing of the Hungarian National Film Fund which should go up to nearly 63 M€, that is almost double the current amount.
