As of next month, Spain’s writers will have a new online consultancy company called ABC Guionistas (abc screenwriters), set up by four film and TV industry experts: Valentin Fernandez-Tubau, a board member of ALMA, the Spanish Screenwriters’ Association, writer Angel Garcia Roldano, actress Amparo Climent Corbin and financial wizard David Gonzalez Marquez. It is hoped that this new body will contribute to protecting the rights and professionalism of Spanish writers. Fernandez-Tubau was recently in talks with Spanish producers’ association, FAPAE, aimed at setting a fixed minimum contribution for screenwriters.
Abc guionistas will offer a variety of services both on a national and international level, including legal and financial advice, a rewrite and translation service, and a national archive.
