The eighth edition of The Business Street (TBS) and New Cinema Network (NCN) will take place during the second half of the Rome Film Festival, taking place on 13-17 November 2013 in the Via Veneto area, which will be linked to the Auditorium through a shuttle service. One of the industry’s historic centres, the Bernini Bristol Hotel, will be hosting the New Cinema Network, the coproduction forum this year, where filmmakers will find an ideal platform to get in touch with some of the biggest players in the international film industry.

For the first time, the two branches will be taking place in the same location. While the terrace will host exchanges and negotiations between Business Street’s buyers and sellers, the first floor will host coproduction encounters for the 24 projects selected by the NCN.

Market screenings will take place in the Barberini cinema, in front of the Bernini Bristol Hotel, and the digital video library, made in collaboration with Rai Trade, based in the basement, will present films from the festival’s official selection, titles screened at the market, and pieces of work by filmmakers selected by the NCN. The video library will offer buyers an individual on-demand screening of all films (around 535 digitalised films presented over 7 years) and sellers will be able to obtain immediate feedback on their films.

NCN will be presenting 25 projects this year from around the world. The films were evaluated and chosen by a selection committee put together by Marco Mϋller, Marie-Pierre Duhamel and Sandra Hebron together with staff from the New Cinema Network. New initiatives have been added this year to the usual activities and events: a special focus on remakes called “RE-MAKE IT!” will present producers and buyers with appealing stories, capable of touching a global audience. Selected films will be presented in a special section of The Business Street’s video library called,“High Concept Remake”.
