Cinepoems in Thessaloniki
The Μacedonian Museum of Contemporary Art has organised an event entitled "Cinepoems: Silent movies & Live Music" in Thessaloniki from 8-10 April. As the title implies, live music will accompany three special screenings of early 20th century silent films: Nosferatu by F.W. Murnau (1922) Cine Poeme, a film-collage of excerpts from surrealist and Dadaist movies of the 1920s put together by Greek director Aris Kersanidis and Foolish Wives by Erich von Stroheim (1921). Sakis Papadimitriou, a Greek musician and silent film expert will accompany the films together with a group of musicians.
