German films supports MoMA film series

German Films supports the New York City Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) with its film series 'The Berlin School: Films from the Berliner Schule', which is to take place at the Roy and the Niuta Titus from November 20 to December 6, 2013.

The series, which explores the first major movement within German cinema since the fall of the Berlin Wall, includes 17 films by nine German filmmakers directed between the mid-1990s and the present. Directors Christian Petzold and Thomas Arslan will be presenting their films in person, as will actress Nina Hoss. During the event 'An Evening with Christoph Hochhäusler and Benjamin Heisenberg', the two directors will talk about their influences, their work and the Berliner Schule movement.

German Films and the MoMA have a long tradition of collaborating together. For instance, last April, the 35th edition of KINO! 2013 New Films from Germany screened six current films by up-and-coming German directors.

The complete screening schedule of Berlin School: Films from the Berliner Schule can be found here.
