The German-Mexican coproduction Workers triumphs in Huelva

The Ibero-American Film Festival of Huelva, one of Spain’s most respected cinematographic events, ended its 39th edition with the Colón de Oro being awarded to the German-Mexican coproduction Workers [+see also:

film profile] by José Luis Valle, who was born in Salvador but naturalized as a Mexican citizen. The film also won an Award for Best Screenplay.
The jury, which included programmer Denis DeLaRoca, producer J. Pablo Gugliotta, make-up artist Sylvie Imbert, actress María Cecilia Sánchez and Vancouver Film Festival director Christian Sida, said the film “reflected the hard labour of many people and their constant struggle to move forward.” The jury also awarded a Special Prize to the Argentinean title Vino para robar by Ariel Winograd.
