The documentary, presented by British Museum director Neil MacGregor, is the first, true film to be presented by the museum and allows for an exclusive look at the extraordinary exhibit “Life and death in Pompeii and Herculaneum.”

The exhibit focuses on Roman houses and the lives of inhabitants in the important city of Pompeii and the small maritime town of Ercolano almost 2,000 years ago at the time of the devastating eruption of Mount Vesuvio in 79 A.D. The film brings its audience into the exhibit, accompanied by prestigious experts who bring extraordinary objects back to life, thanks also to the music, poetry and witness testimonies from the time.
