German docs in Nyon

A total of Eleven German films and co-productions were selected for the 9th edition of Visions du Réel documentary festival that will run in the Swiss town of Nyon from 28 April to 4 May 2003. Nyon is widely acknowledged as being one of the most important events of its kind in Europe and showcases independently production films and videos in various documentary genres.
The three titles selected for the international competition are Tot in Luebeck, directed by Katharina Geinitz and Lottie Marsau, about an unsolved arson attack on an asylum-seekers’ hostel in the German town of Luebeck ; Vaterland by Thomas Heise, about the inhabitants of a small village in rural Saxony-Anhalt and Reporter Vermisst by Johann Feindt about war photographer, Gilles Caron.
Four all-German and two German co-productions – all of which are directorial debuts - were selected for the Regards Neufs (New Looks) competition. They are Auf Demselben Planeten by Katrin Eissing, Die Kinder Sind Tot by Aelrun Goette, Nulla Si Sa, Tutto S’Immagina... Secondo Fellini by Susan Gluth, One Room Man – Kevin Coyne by Boris Tomschiczek. The co-productions are Tarifa traffic by Joakim Demmer and Laut und Deutlich by Maria Arlamovsky.
About Five or Six by Stefanie Jordan and Vaters Land by Nurith Aviv will screen in the non-competitive Traverses section.
