Oscars announce shortlist for Best Foreign Language Film
- LUX Prize winner The Broken Circle Breakdown and EFA winner The Great Beauty among the nine shortlisted titles

The Academy of Motion Picture, Arts and Sciences have announced that nine foreign films have been shortlisted from 76 originally submitted.
The list includes titles that were recently awarded in Europe such as LUX Prize winner The Broken Circle Breakdown by Belgian director Felix van Groeningen and EFA winner The Great Beauty by Italy’s Paolo Sorrentino.
Only five films will make the list of finalists which is to be unveiled on January 16, 2014. The awards will be handed out March 2 in a ceremony at the Dolby Theatre.
The shortlisted films are:
