Filomena Serras Pereira to chair the ICA

Portugal’s Secretary of State for Culture has confirmed the nomination of Filomena Serras Pereira to the presidency of the country’s film institute, the ICA.
Serra Lopes stood out in a public competition against two other finalists. All three of them were personally interviewed by Secretary of State Jorge Barreto Xavier.
Already familiar with the ICA’s management – where she has been working since 1999 -, Serra Pereira had temporarily assumed the presidency of the institution last November, following the resignation of José Pedro Ribeiro (news). The nomination now confirms her new position.
Ana Cristina Pereira was nominated for the vice-presidency. She was, among other positions, the former director of the law department of the public channel RTP between 2000 and 2003.
