At the 15th Nordic Film Market – the industry section of the Göteborg International Film Festival, which started yesterday (January 30) and runs through February 2 – the app. 400 participants will not only be introduced to a programme of 18 films, 20 works-in-progress and 10 projects at the Nordic Film Lab Discovery.

A full-day TV Drama Vision seminar organised in collaboration with Swedish pubcaster SVT will present two works-in-progress and clips from 10 upcoming television productions, as well as a comprehensive overview of the current state of TV drama in the Nordic countries.

The international angle will focus on Israel and stories that travel, covered by executive producer and head of co-productions Sara Johnson, of Keshet UK (which created the original Israeli series Prisoners of War/Homeland, British-Israeli scriptwriter Yael Hedaya (In Treatment) and Icelandic producer Magnus Vidar Sigurdsson, head of RVK Studios.

“The borders between television and film are less pronounced every year, and the distribution, rights, business models, technologies and audience expectations are changing rapidly,” said head of the Nordic Film Market, Cia Edström. “This is what we want to put the spotlight on, to help an industry in a time of change.”

Launching a three-year analysis project, Nostradamus, the market will keep track of the latest trends, key industry players and researchers in Europe – the first report is due today (January 31). Panellists comprise head of the Cannes Film Market, Jérôme Paillard; chairman of the UK’s Olsberg, Jonathan Olsberg; managing director Rikke Ennis, of TrustNordisk international sales; TV4-Sweden’s Åsa Sjöberg and Swedish consultant Bengt Toll.
