A New York welcome

The 7th New Greek Cinema Festival will run in New York from 18-24 April 2003 and showcases the very best recent productions. The programme includes a tribute to director Nikos Panayiotopoulos that includes some of his early films like The idlers of the fertile valley (1978), The Colours of Iris (1974), as well as more recent titles like I dream of my friends(1993) and I am tired of killing your lovers (2002). The Festival is presented and organized by the Foundation for Hellenic Culture of New York and the Greek Film Centre and featured artists include both promisig newcomers and well-established diretors like Constantine Giannaris (One day in August), Penny Panayiotopolou (Hard Goodbyes: My Father), Loukia Rikaki (Quartet in Four Movements) and Nikos Perrakis’ (The Bubble), to mention just a few.
