11/03/2014 - Four titles have been chosen for co-financing from the eight submitted

The National Film Centre of Latvia has announced the results of its tender for the co-financing of foreign film productions. The four winners of the tender – chosen from eight submitted projects – will qualify for up to 25% of eligible film expenses as a cash rebate upon completion of filming. Approximately €400,000 is set to be distributed among the four projects.

The selected titles are:

Son
A Boheme International project in co-operation with the production studio Ivan (Russia)
Co-financing grant – €86,383
Combined with a Riga Film Fund grant.

Best Men
A Boheme International project in co-operation with the Amalgama Studio (Russia)
Co-financing grant – €168,409.

DED_05
An Ego Media project in co-operation with the production studio Sine Pro (Russia)
Co-financing grant – €94,977.

Devil’s Outlaw
A Picturehouse project in co-operation with the production studio Devil’s Outlaw Limited/Cinatura (UK)
Co-financing grant – €77,102.

The co-financing figure of 25% of the total sum of the eligible costs will apply if the story of the film takes place in Latvia, while 20% will apply if the film is shot in Latvia without identifying references, but if local film services are used.

A gradual increase in financial support is planned over the coming years.
