15/04/2014 - A new competition to give young people the possibility to create a song for the latest film by the director of Siberian Education

"A song for Il ragazzo invisibile is the title of the competition, which starting on April 15 until June 30, 2014, will give young musicians between the ages of 18 and 25 the possibility to come up with a song, which will be judged by an excellent jury. The winning song will be inserted into Gabriele Salvatores’ latest film, Il ragazzo invisibile, produced by Indigo Film with Rai Cinema and distributed in movie theatres by 01 Distribution next December.

The endeavour has partnered up with Radio DEEJAY. The jury will be made up of: Gabriele Salvatores (president of the jury), Linus - artistic director at Radio DEEJAY, Marco Alboni – president and CEO of Warner Music Italia, Federico de Robertis – musician and composer and Guido Lazzarini - curator of television programmes.   

In order to help young people create songs, which match the atmosphere of the film, Gabriele Salvatores gave the following instructions: “I am looking for a song for my new film, where I tell the story of a 13-year-old boy, Michele, who discovers he has the power to be invisible. At the beginning he is lost, worried, almost scared. But then he will understand it can be a gift, even if it is difficult to handle. Inside, there are all the emotions of being a teenager: freedom/fear, entrepreneurialism/unconsciousness, the wish to be recognised together with the wish to disappear. And there is the incredible discovery of having a super-power. All I know about the song for the moment, is its title: Il ragazzo invisibile/The Invisible Boy.”

All information on how to participate is available on the film’s website. Two never before seen clips from the film are up to be used as final hints towards the right song.  

Any musician between the age of 18 and 25 in Italy can take part, as long as they are not signed to any record labels. The song can be sung in Italian or in English. The demo will need to be sent in before 30 June 2014.
