Chaired by New Zealand filmmaker, producer and screenwriter Jane Campion (see the news), the competition jury for the 67th Cannes Festival (14-25 May 2014) saw the identity of its members unveiled this morning in Paris.

It includes four women: American director Sofia Coppola (winner of the Oscar for Best Screenplay in 2004, in competition at Cannes in 2006, winner of the Golden Lion at Venice in 2010), South Korean actress Jeon Do-Yeon (winner of the Best Actress Award at Cannes in 2007 for Secret Sunshine), Iranian actress Leila Hatami (A Separation) and French actress Carole Bouquet.

Also chosen to judge the (so far) 18 films duking it out for the Palme d’Or this year (read the article) are Danish director, screenwriter and producer Nicolas Winding Refn (winner of the Best Director Award at Cannes in 2011 for Drive), his Chinese counterpart Jia Zhangke (winner of the Golden Lion at Venice in 2003 with Still Life, Best Screenplay Award last year at Cannes with A Touch of Sin), Mexican actor, director and producer Gael Garcia Bernal, and American actor Willem Dafoe.
