Sitting at Global Screen’s Riviera Stand H9 at the Palais, Evelyn Holzendorf, senior marketing manager, says the film is the typical quality animation film that has the potential to pre-sell. The latest territories to have acquired the Shrek-type fairy-tale comedy include Poland (Kino Swiat), the Baltics, Russia and CIS (Rekiston Enterprises), Croatia and the former Yugoslavia (Karantinja), Latin America (Swen), Portugal (Pris), India (Pictureworks), Malaysia and the Philippines (Suraya Filem). Territories that were closed earlier include the Czech Republic and Slovakia (AQS), Israel (Five Stars), Indonesia (PT Media Bermutu), Korea (Sane Company), the Middle East (Italia Film) and Turkey (Medyavizyon). Universal Pictures will release it in Germany on 25 September 2014.

Another 3D animation title has been sold to a dozen territories: Ooops! Noah is Gone, the story of the animals who didn’t make it onto Noah’s Ark. The film produced by Ulysse Filmproduktion (Niko & the Way to the Stars [+see also:

), with Tidal Films, Fabrique d’Images and Skyline, was snapped up by Barnhill Group for Russia, CIS and the Baltics. Other deals were closed with South Korea (Smile Entertainment), Turkey (Medyavizyon), Bulgaria (Art Eternal), Iran (Century 21), Israel (Five Stars), Portugal (Pris), Latin America (Dreamgold Group Corp) and Indonesia (Onevision Entertainment), adding to the earlier deals with Gulf (for the Middle East) and Kino Swiat (for Poland). Delivery is expected at the end of 2014.

Fresh German titles screening at the market include Coming In by Marco Kreuzpaintner, a romantic comedy to be released by Warner Bros Germany in October, Flights of Fancy by Christian Bach (with Bavaria Film Award-winning actors Tobias Moretti and Jonas Nay), the current box-office hit Joy of Fatherhood (taking over 2.5 million admissions via Warner Bros) and the partly animated film Pinocchio starring Mario Adorf (The Tin Drum).

Holzendorf also stressed the upcoming fantasy-adventure movie in the English language The Legend of Longwood as a potential audience puller. The Dutch/Irish/German co-production starring Lucy Morton, Miriam Margolyes (Harry Potter [+see also:
