How to finance Belgian cinema?
Although a law introducing tax incentives was recently approved, the wider issue of Belgian film financing continues to worry industry operators. To that end the Ministry for the French Community in Belgium and the Vlaams Audiovisual Fund have organised a seminar entitled How to finance films in Belgium? for 30 April at the Festival du Film Européen di Bruxelles.
The goal is to identify all the current sources of funding available in Belgium, be they regional, national, international and tax shelters and keynote speakers include Henry Ingberg, the Secretary-General of the Ministry for the French Community in Belgium, Luckas Vander Taelen, the director of the Vlaams Audiovisual Fund, Nathalie Deneve of the Flemish Community’s Mediadesk, Thierry Leclerq of the French Community’s Mediadesk, Philippe Reynaert, the director of the Wallimage Fund, and producers Erwin Provoost and Dominique Janne who will also moderate the discussion.
