World IP Day in Geneva
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) celebrated World Intellectual Property Day on 26 April, with a conference entitled “Making intellectual property your business” and the screening of two features and several short films (some of which were produced by WIPO) at the CAC Voltaire Cinema in Geneva. The titles included King Vidor’s 1949 Fountainhead, starring Gary Cooper and Francis Ford Copppola’s 1988 Tucker: The Man and His Dreams starring Jeff Bridges.
WIPO was set up in 1970 to create awareness about the importance of intellectual property rights and safeguard the interests of artists and innovators.
