I Origins, Wolf to bookend Raindance
- Over 100 features to screen in festival’s 22nd edition
The 22nd Raindance Film Festival (September 24 – October 5) will open with Mike Cahill’s sci-fi drama I Origins (US), starring Michael Pitt, Archie Panjabi and Brit Marling, about biologists who uncover radical new evidence that may change the world. This year, the festival will screen more than 100 features and 150 shorts from 50 countries. The programming is now categorised by the four seasons, moving away from the previous focus on genres. This is not dissimilar to the British Film Institute’s London Film Festival that has been segmenting its programme based on emotions for a few years now.
