A young boy sees his father brutally kill his mother. He is severely traumatized and his behaviour degenerates to the degree that is forced to spend several years behind the bars of a juvenile correction centre. The young man who emerges, played by Ralph Fiennes, embarks on a journey of discovery to come to terms with the reasons for his presumed madness. Based on the bestseller by Patrick McGrath, who co-wrote the screenplay, this project is particularly close to Cronenberg´s heart.
