“My goal was to give the Bratislava audience a chance to recognise the ways in which directors from different cultures think. It was not out of pure curiosity, but because this insight into filmmakers’ ideas, subjects and styles enriches our own knowledge – not only our knowledge of filmmaking, but also of our world today,” said the festival’s head programme director, Nenad Dukić, about the main competition, which focuses on debut and sophomore features.
