KORDA is launched

The European Audiovisual Observatory is scheduled to present a new database called KORDA, at the Cannes Film Festival on 16 May.
KORDA contains detailed information about 141 European film and audiovisual support bodies and 502 financial support programmes in 30 countries. On average Euros1.3billion are earmarked every year to support film production in Europe and KORDA will also form the basis of a major survey into the public funding of the European film and audiovisual industries, scheduled for October 2003, that the Observatory will carry out together with the European Investment Bank.
Furthermore, the Observatory and the EIB will host a conference about state funding in London in November.
