Ficarra e Picone, a better Sunday than Interstellar

film profile], produced by Tramp Limited with Medusa Film which will distribute the movie in around 450 theatres, closed its first weekend in cinemas with over two and a half million euro (2,500,621) and 377,340 tickets issued, winning on Sunday the heated battle with Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar [+see also:

film profile], distributed in about 130 more theatres (1,014,513 euro versus 1,085,370 euro by Ficarra e Picone) and beating it as the weekend’s best per theatre average (5,775 euro versus 5015).
This is the best opening weekend of the 2014-2015 season for an Italian film (almost doubling E fuori nevica [+see also:

With the two and a half million euro for Andiamo a quel paese, the two Sicilian comedians also beat their opening weekends for Il 7 e l’8 (1,323,000) and It May Be Love But It Doesn’t Show (2,131,000).
